Oliver is a Writer/Director
For a lot of boys, making people laugh is the hook that gets them interested in theatre, and as a kid, comedy is what opened the door to performing arts for me. That impulse has stayed with me throughout my career and anchors my approach to any piece of material. Though I didn’t know it at the time, devising and improvising for the stage were my first experiences as a writer.
I started making films when I was 13yrs old, and my short films have played at London Short Film Festival, at the BFI Southbank, and at cinemas nationwide as part of Virgin Media Shorts. My debut feature VERVE was nominated at the London Independent Film Awards. I’m a finalist of the ISA comedy screenwriting contest and placed in the top 10% of BBC writers Room.
Inspired by Shakespeare, Spielberg, and slapstick, I try and make films where art and entertainment meet. I called my production company Ambitious Entertainment because I like intelligent, theme driven, audience facing stories.
